While hypochlorous acid (HOCl) has been explored for PFAS treatment, recent studies highlight electrochemical methods as more reliable and efficient. We often explain our system as one that produces HOCl, however, our system is a 3 tier-system that is unlike any other electrochemical generator. Our first tier is our speciality chambers where anodic oxidation (direct electrolysis) – PFAS adsorb onto an anode surface and are destroyed directly at the electrode by a direct electron transfer reaction.
